Have you ever been struck by how beautifully contagious some people’s energy is? They breeze into a room and before they even speak you’re curious and captivated. Their energy preceded anything they could possibly say. The opposite is also true. Some people are just so mealy-mouthed and mean that you want to avoid them at all costs. Its like they have a bad aura about them. In fact, it is most likely precisely that.
Which one are you? I know which one you would like to be. So if you feel you need a bit of help with this, here are a few ideas.
When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself to expect a happy day ahead. Who wants to meet a miserable old grump? You may not be able to imagine where the happiness will come from but for sure you will never observe it if you’re expecting the opposite. It could be there in spades but could go by you in a flash. So think happy.
VISUALISE YOUR DREAMS
There is an inevitable energy about visualising where you want to be. But it’s important to imagine all the detail involved. You have to get yourself to a place where you believe it can really happen, imagine how it will feel, see it and see yourself in the middle of it.
STOP OVERTHINKING YOUR PROBLEMS
Every body has them – problems – but some people don’t seem to suffer as much as others even in similar circumstances. That’s because their attitude is different. There is no energy attraction around a person who is constantly whingeing about their lot. If you can accept that these problems will find their own resolution then let them off to go the course. In the meantime thinking them to death with no resolution in sight robs you of positive energy, and leaves you mentally and physically exhausted.
APPEAR TO HAVE FUN
It’s not always easy. You could be feeling overwrought and miserable. But there’s nothing infectious about that. Fake the happiness temporarily if it has eluded you. Fake s not good but imagine if your favourite TV presenters came on to the show and instead of smiling at the audience, they said in a dreary low-pitched, lifeless voice ‘Hello. Welcome to the show but I’m feeling miserable.’ They have to fake it sometimes. You can too.
CHOOSE FRIENDS WITH GOOD ENERGY
These friends will always give you a lift. That’s why we gravitate towards them. But now it’s your turn. You become that person. It may take practice. But you will get there.
So seek out this positive, contagious energy. It’s inside you. You can do it if you mindfully pursue it.
